Daniel and his class finished learning (Sium) Humash Bereshit - חומש בראשית (Book of Genesis) - Party!!! This is very different from the way I learned in school, and it is quite amazing that they finished reading and laining and learning the subjects in a single year (this is first grade mind you!) - this is a huge amount of material for this age, to me it is an amazing achievement for the kids and staff!
Congratulations Daniel! we are so proud!!! Thank you T"T Dvir (Talmud Torah) - such an amazing school with a staff of people who really love the children, and it shows in everything they do. A school to which the kids love to go, and wake eager for another (long) day of learning...
Here are pictures, and you can see videos in the attached link Videos
Haleli Zion started kindergarten for the first time (Gan Yafit :-)) - she was very excited and couldn't wait for us to leave the premises... Daniel started 2nd grade a few days ago (they start on Alef Elul) in the Talmud Tora in Shaalbim. Mia started 3rd grade (they grow up so fast!) in Nehalim It was a lot of fun, and a little sad, saying goodbye to all of them this morning. It made us really happy to see that they all were happy to go back to school (we'll see how the day went later on).
Haleli Zion decided to share with you her music, nuff' words - here she is... (sorry for the video quality, Haleli doesn't like me to take action shots, so we had to do it sneakily :-) )
We had a wonderful time in the US with the kids, sadly I only got my new phone late into the vacation, and the other camera was pretty slow or forgotten at home (somehow I never forget the phone), so I apologize for any missing images (specifically our day out in Manhattan at the Museum of Natural History, Central Park, FAO Schwartz and walking around the city. If anyone who sees these posts, has pictures of us, I'd really appreciate them sending them over to my email. On this day we started a little late in the day took the #2 (we started on the #5 by mistake and switched) to Clark St. and then walked a bit to Dumbo (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) ferry station. We then got on the ferry all the way to E34th st in Manhattan, was a great ride, the kids were running around the upper deck and below trying to see everything at once (Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, the river, boats, buildings etc.) Once we landed on the other side of the river we went to eat lunch at 2nd Ave Deli, was my first deli meal, and it was just excellent! we need one like this in Israel, pronto! We then took the Q train back to Brooklyn, but that's another story :-)
